I’m Rachel
Freelance journalist, filmmaker and photographer based in Austin, TX.
I am a bilingual freelance multimedia journalist and documentary filmmaker currently based in Austin, Texas, passionate about sharing inspiring stories in politics, climate, health, advocacy, arts and culture.
I have worked in journalism, photography, filmmaking, multimedia communications and nonprofit management for several years, where I’ve collaborated on books, reports, podcasts, photography exhibits, documentaries and articles across environmental, political, and public health sectors. Most recently, I worked as a staff writer for The Austin Chronicle, Reporting Texas and The Liberty Hill Independent newspaper. On the side, I direct independent freelance documentary projects.
I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Studies, a Bachelor’s of Arts in Spanish Language and Culture, and a minor in Film and Media from Tufts University and am currently pursuing my Master’s in Journalism and Media from the University of Texas at Austin.
